2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you use SprachCoach:
- Account information: Your name and email address when you register
- Conversation history: Your German practice conversations with Coach Kai, stored to provide session memory and personalisation
- Progress data: Your CEFR level, session duration, topics practiced, and learning milestones
- Device information: Device type and operating system version for technical support purposes
- Voice input: Audio is processed in real-time for speech recognition and is not stored permanently
- Payment information: Handled entirely by Google Play — we never see or store your payment card details
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide and improve the SprachCoach service:
- To personalise your learning experience with Coach Kai
- To remember your previous sessions and track your progress
- To provide accurate CEFR level assessment and adaptation
- To send service-related communications (not marketing unless you opt in)
- To improve Coach Kai's teaching quality and fix technical issues
We do NOT: sell your data to third parties, use your conversations for advertising targeting, or share your personal information without your consent.
4. Third-Party Services
SprachCoach uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Anthropic (Claude AI): Powers Coach Kai's conversation intelligence. Conversations are processed according to Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Microsoft Azure: Provides text-to-speech voice generation for Coach Kai's voice.
- Railway: Cloud hosting for our backend servers and database.
- RevenueCat: Manages subscription status and in-app purchase verification.
- Google Play: App distribution and billing.
5. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored on secure Railway cloud servers
- All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
- Passwords are stored using industry-standard bcrypt hashing — we never store plain text passwords
- We retain your data for as long as your account is active
- We conduct regular security reviews to protect your information
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data — email hello@sandithi.com
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from within the app settings, or by emailing hello@sandithi.com
- Correction: Update your profile information within the app at any time
- Portability: Request an export of your data — email hello@sandithi.com
- Opt-out: Unsubscribe from any marketing communications via the unsubscribe link in emails
7. Children's Privacy
SprachCoach is rated 3+ on Google Play. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at hello@sandithi.com and we will delete the information promptly.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data and conversation history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
9. International Data Transfers
SprachCoach is operated from Qatar. Your data may be processed on servers located in the United States and European Union through our cloud providers. By using SprachCoach you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through a notice in the app. Your continued use of SprachCoach after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
